In the remote hills of western Tennessee, a top-secret research laboratory, funded by the Pentagon's black budget, is broken into by a couple of convicts on the run. How could they know that lurking in the lab are the subjects of a shockingly inhuman experiment, itching to get out?
At first the authorities, in a desperate attempt to cover up the truth, tell Special Forces Chief Warrant Officer Dave Riley that he and his team of green Berets have been brought in to exterminate some escaped monkeys. But once on the trail, it becomes clear that Riley and his men are up against a terrifyingly effective fighting unit, acting out its bio-engineered genetic urges with ruthless efficiency.
The Green Berets follow the synbats' - synthetic battle forms - bloody trail to the urban sprawl of Chicago, where Riley and a gutsy woman cop will attempt to stop the Pentagon's unholy creations once and for all.
