The farmers of Noy Thien village have enough of a war on their hands with the seasons, the monsoon and the soil - they have no reason to fight for anything else. But this is Vietnam and it's 1967. The country is divided and American troops have moved in. For thirteen-year-old Xuan and his family, their world is about to be turned upside down.
