It is a dark time for the Rebel Alliance. Emperor Palpatine has ordered the construction of a new and even more powerful Death Star. With its completion the Imperial grip on all corners of the galaxy will become absolute.
The Rebel forces gather in a giant armada and prepare for a last desperate attack, but Luke Skywalker is not among them. He has travelled with Princess Leia on an equally perilous mission - to rescue Han Solo, still frozen in carbonite, from the lair of the gangster Jabba the Hutt. Luke will need all his Jedi training to survive and return to face the Empire, and Darth Vader, in the final battle.
