Gary Seven returns to the U.S.S. Enterprise, where he subdues the bridge crew and disappears with Kirk. They materialize on an icy planet where the ruling government is on the verge of being overthrown. Seven has brought Kirk there to help stop the coup. But even Kirk, who's bucked the system before, isn't convinced that interfering in the politics of this planet is the right thing to do.
