"The last two or three days' training is the hardest of all," Zane's mother remarked.
"Training? I'm not doing any! I feel jumpy."
"That's just it. Shows that your body and mind are ready to go. You're right up to speed."
It's Zane's big chance to prove himself in the tri-meet cross country, the same one his mum ran twenty years ago, and he's got a major attack of nerves. Training has been tough but on the way he meets someone with such a zest for life, it inspires him to run like he's never run before.
