Colley, recently orphaned but the child of wealthy parents, is kidnapped and placed in a frightful home for boys, where he is forced to work under dreadful conditions in a glass factory. Unable to stand the rigors of his new life, he is saved by his fellow sufferers and eventually by an adult cousin, who realizes that it is his unscrupulous parents who have orchestrated the kidnapping and planned for Colley's death so that they can inherit the boy's vast estate.
