The glittering fortunes of the Massot family, vastly wealthy owners of one of the last great jewellery firms in Paris, were plunged into confusion seven years ago by the disappearance of Pierre Massot, it’s charismatic head. Now, his beautiful widow Sophie has decided the family—and the firm—must move on to survive. But her enemies have other ideas … For the trail of scandal is waiting to be uncovered, one that could rip the Massots’ carefully constructed world to shreds.

What really happened to Pierre, and what is the family secret he tried so hard to conceal? The answers lie in the past, criss-crossing through a maze of long-concealed deception and naked ambition. The secrets of the past will shape the future, in a way no one could ever have guessed.

Everything Sparkles
Sparkles is a well written book that keeps up the excitement and suspense almost the entire way through. I felt the ending was far-fetched and out of place with the rest of the book. And, there were a few chapters that were difficult to understand and place within the context of the story. You find out later in the story what these seemingly random chapters are all about, but it took too long for the back story in the book to come alive. The characters were exciting and interesting and there was a lot of drama surrounding the families involved. Dispite seeming like one, there was a surprising lack of romance in the book (no sex scenes and limited kissing, etc.). I think it is well worth a read for any fans of novels about romance and characters making bad choices for love and money.
