Gripping read
This whole series had me hooked from the beginning. I read 'Spark' from cover to cover in one go. It was just so intense and exciting while still having the emotion and character development that you really need in a YA novel. First things first - the covers. Absolutely mesmerizing and to be completely honest it's what caught my attention enough to give it a go. Next are the characters who are incredibly realistic and believable. This book and series is just so awesome I can't describe every amazing thing about it so give it a go, you won't regret it!! - Bree

Perfect for young adults
Follow the rise of new 'Shield' Evangaline Everton- genetically bound to defend her best friend from an unknown killer. Evangeline is the quintessential reluctant hero- a girl with a power she does not want, and can't control, that she needs to use to save someone that she loves. Like the saying goes 'With great power comes great responsibility'. Oh and,of course, there's the incredibly hot sort-of ex-boyfriend that she's not quite over hanging around- just to keep life interesting If you think 'Divergent' but add a bit of science, a suspense-filled mystery and some angsty teenage love you have the essence of this book. P.S. Beware the twists
