Hannah, Emma and Leonie are three individuals with very different ambitions who meet on holiday in Egypt and become best friends. Hannah, young and beautiful, wants to forget the man who betrayed their long-term relationship and to throw herself into the excitements of the single life - but is she deceiving herself about what she really wants?
Emma is two years happily married, and increasingly desperate to have a baby. But even if she can, what kind of mother would she be when she still allows herself to be bullied mercilessly by her own parents? Leonie is generously proportioned and big-hearted. Can there ever be romance for her again, she wonders, for she's divorced, with her energies sapped by three demanding children?
