This new title covers the emergence of sexual identities, intersectionality, historical and current inequalities and discrimination faced by sexual and gender minorities, heterosexual and cisgender privilege, activism/mobilization to challenge such discrimination, and the ways sexuality operates in and through various institutions. It includes a chapter on the science of sexuality, from early sexologists to queer theory, and several chapters on sexual health, social problems associated with sexuality such as the commodification of sexuality, and discussions of heterosexuality such as discrimination against pregnant women in the workforce.
