One Australian's 16,000km Odyssey.
Inspired by the death of his mother to breast cancer, Richard Allen made an extraordinary decision - to cycle around Australia to raise funds for cancer research. Richard endured seven months of pain, frustration and weeks of infuriating jock-itch to achieve his aim.
This book is Richard's personal chronicle of his experiences, the people he encountered and the obstacles he overcame during his colourful and arduous journey. Cycling up to 230km a day, Richard not only came to terms with the death of his mother but battled headwinds, road-trains, snakes, scorpions and locusts through outback Queensland, the rugged Top End, the spectacular Kimberleys, the West Australian Coast and the searing heat of the Nullarbor.
Includes 16 pages of full colour photographs. All royalties from this book will be donated to further cancer research.
