The Gerard family has lived a charmed life. Carl is a highly successful residential developer with millions in the bank who married his high school sweetheart, Becky, and they have a beautiful daughter, Meghan. After the death of his own son, Dr. Fisher dedicated his life to finding a way to cure the disease with a passion that borders on obsession, and he is convinced that Meghan is suffering from the same illness.
