Patrick Sheridan is thrilled to become a student reporter - and instant celebrity - on a straight-to-the-classroom news program. After a disastrous weekend at home in which he loses his relationship with his parents, his best friend, and his girlfriend, he is sent to Ireland on assignment. While there, he runs away from his job and the life he has come to hate. In an attempt to pull himself out of the abyss into which he has fallen, he looks to the one place that may make some sense to him: the small Irish fishing village where his grandfather grew up.
