You can’t run from bad news. Or can you? Jasper, 14, was just diagnosed with cancer. Treatment starts in a week and his parents want him to carry on as normal. But Jasper knows that’s impossible, and his friends help organise a weekend trip to the seaside to get away from everything. It’ll be like running away for beginners, they joke. But as the journey goes on, things don’t go as planned and everyone’s secrets come out. All, that is, except Jasper’s own secret: that when it’s time to go back home, he won’t be going with them.
