Just 18 months after taking up river rowing Rosie represented Great Britain in the Women's Eight at the 1975 World Rowing Championships. Over the next 8 years she represented GB at a further 4 World Rowing championships and at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. In 1983 she was appointed as a National Coach with the responsibility for Women's Rowing. Over the next 18 years as well as promoting women's rowing and coach education, Rosie held various roles in the international team.
