Study Edition.
This is the Roman ritual revised by decree of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council and published by authority of Pope Paul VI.
The book presents an introduction and is divided into two parts. Part One, 'Christian Initiation Of Adults', consists of the steps and periods that make up the full and paradigmatic form of Christian initiation, in accord with the restoration of the integral catechumenate decreed by the Second Vatican Council.
Part Two, 'Rites For Particular Circumstances', consists of material for: the adaptation of the rite to unbaptized children of catechetical age; exceptional circumstances in which the process of Christian initiations is not followed in its complete form; situations in which those already baptized are either to be catechized and complete their Christian initiation or are to become part of the full communion of the Catholic Church; and circumstances in which the rite of reception into the full communion of the Catholic Church is integrated with the celebration at the Easter Vigil of the sacraments of initiation.
The book omits nothing from the Latin original, but it does entail a departure from the paragraph enumeration of the Latin edition. However, reference numbers are in the right-hand margin of this English edition.
