Hob lives under the hearthstone at Ghyllside Farm. No one knows he is there except his best friend, Miss Minkin, the tabby cat. In the evenings when the farm is asleep, the two friends share a bowl of cream, and spend the night telling tales, singing sons and dancing on the hearth.
Miss Minkin does not like Spring. The fire is out and there are noisy birds in the chimney. But then a new-born foal draws a magical song from the friends . . .
