A young girl in wartime reads about the gods, their quarrels, their violence and their humanity. There are subtle parallels between the fighting of the gods, the creation and destruction of earth, and those in power in wartime; reflecting an interesting viewpoint of how much an all powerful god might behave like us. In addition to these themes, the mythology and storytelling is very engaging, especially for those interested in the stories of Odin, Loki, and the many figures an events in Norse-European mythology. - Matt (QBD)
