A thrilling ride
Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott return in Silkworm and are tasked with finding a missing writer. The writer's wife is concerned and for good reason. Strike's investigation leads him to something more sinister. Now the police are involved and resentful of his link to this case. Strike must contend with the authorities in order to uncover the truth. At the same time, his ex is sending him texts on the verge of her wedding. He is divided between what was and what could be. Robin too has her attention divided when tragedy strikes. She also begins to see a side to Matthew that she never knew. The pair are taken down a path of intrigue and danger with a hooded figure stalking their investigation. What is the most interesting is Galbraith's choice to withhold information from the reader. Strike has his suspicions of the culprit's identity but the reader isn't privy to it. It allows them to draw their own conclusions. It is a fantastic page turner that hooks you from the beginning.
