First published in 1973, 'The Princess Bride' is a cult book which later became a cult film. It tells the story of Buttercup, the most beautiful girl in the world. And of fencing, fighting, torture, poison, true love, hate, revenge, giants, hunters, bad men, good men, beautifulest ladies, snakes, spiders, beasts, chases, escapes, lies, truths, passion and miracles.

It is one of the most laconic, tightly-plotted tales of mythical morality you'll ever read, an anti-establishment satire disguised as a love story, more of a scary tale than a fairy tale.

Brilliant, bizarre, charming and hilarious, The Princess Bride is one of my all-time favourite books. Every bit as fun and clever as its on-screen counterpart, this classic tale of true love and high adventure is a must-read for anyone! - Raphail (QBD)

Think classics are dull? This is a humerous take on the cliche princess rescue story that keeps you captivated til the end. It's funny because it's meant to be. And by funny, I mean FUNNY. The film is just as iconic. It won't take you too long either, so give it a go and let me know what you thought! - Jaidyn (QBD)

This book was simply brilliant. As someone who grew up watching the film adaptation, I went into this book thinking I knew what to expect and found so much more. Goldman presents a clever dual narrative in which he recounts his experiences in abridging the fictitious S. Morgenstern's book, as well as the tale of The Princess Bride. The result is that the book - while entirely fictitious - feels like a blend of fairy tale and memoir. If you loved the film like I did or are simply looking for something exciting to read, I highly recommend The Princess Bride. - Charlotte (QBD)

The Princess Bride
I am yet to meet anyone who has not loved this book. This fantastic story is not as fluffy as the title might suggest, and manages to tick every box Action Yes. Comedy Yes. Romance Yes. Pirates, giants, and the most beautiful lady in the world Yes, yes, and yes. This book is even more brilliantly witty and endearing as the movie, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
