One of a series of 'Pocket Naturalist' field guides in the form of handy fold-out laminated cards. Designed as a simplified introductory reference and 'Star Finder', it highlights the most prominent constellations and stars visible from cities in the southern hemisphere. Clear illustrations and a handy glow-in-the-dark feature makes the star charts simple and practical to use.
Good learning material
This product is as it says, a pocket version. Handy to pop into the pocket or car. Light to travel. Unfortunately it contains an error. It is a shame that it has not been corrected since the publication in 2001. The card states that Orion is a "winter constellation" and display a diagram for Orion as seen from the Northern Hemisphere, in other words, upside-down. The "glow in the dark" feature is excellent to get the attention of children. Ideal for Naked-eye astronomy. Worthwhile to buy and use.
