Elizabeth had been thinking about it for some time. Then, on her sixth birthday, when they were eating the last plums of the season, she looked carefully around to see if her family was watching her and she did it quickly, before anyone could stop her. She picked up the last plum on her plate and she swallowed it, plum stone and all.
Elizabeth has an idea. No one else believes in it. But that's not going to stop her.
