Original Stories By Censored Writers: A collection of short stories by well-known authors whose work has been challenged or banned in public libraries or schools.
Each story is followed by the author's discussion of the challenges his or her work has faced. The purpose of the collection is to build public awareness, and let people know that censorship affects prominent, talented writers. The authors include David Klass, Julius Lester, Chris Lynch, Harry Mazer, Norma Fox Mazer, Walter Dean Myers, Katherine Paterson, Susan Beth Pfeffer, Rachel Vail, Jacqueline Woodson, and Paul Zindel, as well as a story the late Norma Klein wrote as an undergraduate.
