In the same way that Lewis Carrol makes Alice go through the looking glass, we go through it with Michelangelo Pistoletto, looking back over his most significant works from the 1960s to the present. The artist, in conversation with art critic and sociologist Massimo Melotti, comments on the collection of his works exhibited in the Cittadellarte spaces. Through the looking glass we apprehend the tenuous confine between art and life, between creative commitment and social responsibility. The artist and the exhibition curator probe the significant stages of an artistic career spanning half a century, crowned in 2003 by the Leone d oro alla carriera. Art critic and sociologist Massimo Melotti has been focusing his research since 1980 on creative processes, the relationship between art, new media and society, and particularly on the social-ethical role of art. He has curated numerous exhibitions, working with artists like Michelangelo Pistoletto and Piero Gilardi. Since 1990 he has been external relations manager at Castello di Rivoli.
