The main game arises from the hunt for the hidden gold of Gull Island. Five pirate captains find the secret of the treasure's location when they stumble on a map and co-ordinate.
Each captain tells the secret reference to his or her first mate, each of whom then sets off to locate it before the other captains' crews.
The aim of the game is to discover which crew finds the treasure.
