Brett Rigby is a fairly typical eleven-year-old boy, who gets into more than his fair share of mischief. Send him away on a school camp, with his reputation as chief troublemaker to preserve, throw in rumours of ghosts, pirates and lost treasure, two reluctant allies and a devious caretaker and you have a story designed to keep young readers on the edge of their seats.
But it isn't all action and slapstick humour - along the way Brett discovers that those he has been quick to dismiss as losers turn out to have a lot more going for them than he would ever have imagined.
With a strong mix of humour, suspense and action, the story has been structured to sustain reader interest from beginning to very enjoyable end. A rollicking good read children will love.
