Peyrassol, located in the Massif des Maures, France, has a settlement history dating back a long way, and it was here where the Knights Templar were to establish one of their commanderies. This huge 1000ha domain has now been restored to its past splendour. Investing a great amount of passion, its present owner, Philippe Austruy, has turned Peyrassol into what it used to be - a place of great beauty, yet with a commercial purpose. Long stone terraces once again underline the symmetry of the vineyards, offsetting the ancient oak trees - a setting evoking the spirit of the Knights Templar. And art du vin is not the sole attraction in Peyrassol: Philippe Austruy has also created one of France's most beautiful contemporary sculpture parks.
