His name is synonymous with astronomy, and he is probably one of the best known men in the UK, if not the world. Sir Patrick Moore is a colourful, warm, funny and immensely likeable man. A presenter for over 57 years of The Sky At Night, the BBC programme that more than any other has popularised astronomy, and which this year celebrated its 700th episode. Appropriately, as science is currently on an upward arc, that programme included guests such as Brian May and professor Brian Cox, another man bringing science to the public.
In this recording we can hear him taking us on a trip around our solar system and beyond. No dry science lesson, Patrick's enthusiasm makes even the most complicated concepts understandable and enjoyable. More than anything it is a marvellous record of a remarkable man.
