Patrick Moore last wrote a book about the moon - one of more than 150 books to his name - some thirty years ago. Patrick was a "moon observer" for many years in his early career; moon maps were partly based on his observations - with NASA, and with the Russians - finding his work of great value in the race to get in orbit around and then land on the moon. Our knowledge of the moon has extended beyond all recognition in the last thirty years, and this new book sets out to bring that knowledge within reach of the interested lay person in Patrick's own enthusiastic, inimitable way. Don't think that, because man's sights are now fixing on journeying to Mars, we no longer have use for the moon: it could yet be - is most likely to be - our stepping stone to interplanetary level. The moon has much to tell us about the Earth and its origins. It will be revealed in 'Patrick Moore on the Moon'.
