Over the course of six decades, José Ortiz Echagüe captured the people and landscapes of a changing Spain on the way to modernisation in his photographs with great sensitivity and a hint of nostalgia for a world he sensed would soon disappear. These pages also reflect his experiencies in the lands of North Africa in graphic documents, the majority of which have never been published until now, from the Photographic Archives of the University of Navarre.
