Renowned for his work sculpting the human form, Australian-born photographer James Houston now explores the world of yoga with a striking collection of graphic images featuring the yoga body.

One was originally created by Houston as a way of giving something back to the gift of yoga - to view it as an art form. Houston was initially inspired when he attended the Yoga Moves Ashtanga Studio in Paddington, Sydney, founded by Eileen Hall. He says:Yoga is incredible to watch. Its like a combination of contortion, dance and gymnastics. I love shooting the human form and yoga lets you see the body really working . . . raw muscles and texture.

One takes yoga imagery away from traditional yoga photographs and captures different types of people who enjoy yoga and its benefits.

Houston also had the chance to shoot the main yoga instructors behind celebrities such as Sting, Madonna and Christy Turlington.

Eileen Hall has also used yoga to battle breast cancer and the proceeds Houston gets from the sale and launch of One will go to benefit the Breast Cancer charity. Filled with an inspiring foreword from Eileen Hall and a number of spiritual and motivating quotes, One is a celebration of an evolving practice that is modern yoga.
