Julie Gaffney is a 27 year old assistant account executive at a Madison Avenue advertising agency and is dissatisfied with her life. She is having a series of bad days when she ends up at a Medieval Times restaurant in New Jersey and is transported back in time to the middle of a joust. She ends up being Lancelot of Camelot's paige and her troubles only begin. She decided to prevent the foreseen betrayal of Author and woos Lancelot herself.
She is successful. Abruptly the two are transported back to the present day and Lancelot is plunged into 20th century life but all is not well with the lovers and they fight constantly. The two eventually reconcile but Lancelot knows he must go back. Once Merlin makes his appearance in our time Lancelot has found his way home but realizes his love for Julie. They go back together and change history.
