When Alice chooses a disobedient black and white mutt as her birthday dog, her grandmother, Oma, is not pleased. She decides that "Trouble, Bother, and Nuisance" would be an appropriate name for Alice's new pet. Oma's dislike for the dog only increases when he begins chewing on her old red potholder. The dog is swiftly enrolled in obedience school, and Alice is eager for her Bobo to win a blue ribbon at the school's competition. Unfortunately, Bobo just won't fetch. But with Oma's help and secret coaching, Bobo wins the blue ribbon after all.
