Lachlan and his grandpa enjoy the time they spend together. But one day Lachlan notices that Grandpa John never wears a hat in the sun and he wants to know why.
Sponsored by the Queensland Cancer Fund, this picture book tells the story of a special friendship between a grandfather and grandson. Like many older Australians, Grandpa John doesn't wear a hat, referring to himself as a member of the "no hat brigade". His membership and lack of protection makes grandson Lachlan very worried, until he is finally able to convince his Grandpa of the benefits of a hat and is surprised by his eventual choice.
Beautifully illustrated by Sharon Dye, this story uses a special family relationship to communicate this very important health issue, reinforcing to children the message of sun-awareness and protection.
