Whilst 'Feed' can technically be described as a post zombie-apocolypse, it's so much more. It's political intrigue, it's the future of America in social media, it's pure, well-designed science fiction. Gone are the boring zombies with a hunger for brains and instead in their place is a brilliant scientific explanation. Two medical advances (the cure for cancer and the cure for the common cold) combined and mutated several decades ago to affect all mammallian life. Grant builds this world beautifully with a rigorous system of blood tests, side-effects, stats and numbers that all work together seamlessly to make the 'zombies' of the novel and the world that evolves as a result. Our narrator is Georgia Mason, a blogger who is hired with her teammates as the first blog-team to cover the American Presidential campaign. However, as things are wont to do, the journey soon takes a turn for the disastrous when it's discovered that someone is weaponising the zombies in a manner that can only be described as biological warfare. An absolute must-read, pick up 'Feed' today for a zombie-book you'll devour. - Caitlin (QBD)
