A new and innovative approach which expands on the traditional techniques of shuttle and needle tatting and introduces the technique of inverted tatting. Using the traditional threads in a variety of colours and either shuttle or needle, the reader will explore the traditional techniques and learn new methods to create three dimensional and inverted tatting which offer the soft visual characteristics previously unknown in the traditional geometric approach.
Thirty different designs are presented with detailed graphic and written instructions, photographs and diagrams to illustrate the necessary steps. Projects include a variety of realistic floral designs as well as butterflies, lizards and a splendid tropical fish. These new designs and techniques are sure to create renewed interest for both new and experienced tatters.
