Assembled as a series of personal accounts, 'Never Forget' takes the reader into each harrowing moment: in an apartment building that overlooks the twin towers, where a resident who noticed the first jet approaching calls a 911 operator; or into the burning buildings themselves, where policemen and firemen struggle to rescue civilians, or, after the collapse of the towers, to rescue their fellow officers and firemen from the crush of rubble.
