The definitive guide to over 1,800 Australian plants, including annuals and perennials, shrubs, trees, ferns, palms, orchids, climbers, creepers and much more.
One of the most vital principles of successful gardening is to choose plants that are suitable for the climate in which you live. This is particularly important in Australia, with its broad expanse covering snowy mountains and sandy deserts to areas that enjoy cool sea breezes.
Backed by the knowledge and experience of the ABC's Gardening Australia series, Flora's Native Plants is divided into six chapters based on plant groups - Annuals and Perennials; Shrubs; Trees; Ferns; Palms and Cycads; Orchids and Climbers and Creepers - with a four-page introduction to each chapter that highlights the uses of the plant group in the garden. This fascinating introduction is followed by descriptions of the most popular genera and species in each plant group, with information on light preference, frost tolerance, height, width, place of origin, forms, and hardiness zones.
The Definitive Guide To Australian Plants - Hard Back
Hardback version of the book available in most book stores. This is larger offering more photos - essential for a guide like this. Well laid out, fantastic descriptions and covers everything I have searched the book for. And with 60% off, awesome value.

Native Plants: The Definitive Guide To Australian Plants
A fantastic book for people looking for a reference book on native plants. The information is great and the pictures are stunning. I can not imagine anyone who would need any more general information on Australian plants than this book can provide - you would need to move on to specialist books. I'm really happy with it, especially for the price!
