Two students attend the same school and become friends. One is eighty-five years old, but he’s committed to going to school and learning how to read, write, and study so that he can fulfill his dream of being a veterinarian. Kamau is a second grader, and learns from his older friend that if you put your mind to it, you can make your dreams come true. Social and emotional learning concepts include setting goals, making plans, and intergenerational friendship. Book includes a note to caregivers and story coaching activities. A Reader’s Theater version is available online so that children can benefit from dramatic interpretation.
