From time spent in the recording studio with Michael Jackson, to time spent in Customs with Jimmy Page; from hanging around in Los Angeles with Madonna to playing live in Berlin at Live 8 with Roxy Music, this is a book that has grown out of Guy Pratt's stage show -- the basis of which is anecdotes from his life as a session musician, basically that of bass player to the stars.
He's worked with everyone from Pink Floyd, Bryan Ferry and Madonna, through to The Smiths, Tom Jones and Elton John. From the stage she he has a wealth of anecdotes to draw from: the show was a hit in Edinburgh and in London. He has a natural, easy manner, is very witty and is fairly self deprecating -- despite being a very talented bass player, he has a kind of Hornbyesque take on music. All in all it has the feel of Giles Smith's 'Lost in Music' with an A-list cast.
