This is a new title in 'Young Reading Series Three', which is aimed at children whose reading ability and confidence allows them to tackle longer and more complex stories.

This is a thrilling tale of smuggling and corruption set amongst the Dorset coast, when a young orphan boy stumbles upon a discovery that will transport him from his ordinary life into a world of treachery, danger and stolen diamonds.

It is stunningly illustrated by Alan Marks, who also illustrated the 'Young Reading' titles - 'The Railway Children', 'Black Beauty' and 'The Snow Queen'. It is developed in consultation with Alison Kelly, who is a senior lecturer in education and an early reading specialist from Roehampton University, and Dr Erika Langmuir OBE, a distinguished art historian.
