AGES: 12 plus AUTHOR: Ruth is an author who has previously worked in theatre and television, from acting, stage management, and writing. She takes inspiration from places ? particularly her native Yorkshire, but also favourite holiday destinations. She writes about identity, being the outsider, and what people will do when literally living on the edge. She helps to organise The Portico Sadie Massey Awards, a young person's reading and writing competition, and is a member of The Society of Authors, ALCS, The Public Lending Library and The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). In any spare time, Ruth can be found travelling to festivals in her flower-stickered camper van, Doris.
