There are a number of books on using Outlook 98/2000 from an end-user/non-developer point of view. However, this book will cover what few do: how to program Outlook, not just to extend its capabilities as a stand-alone application, but also to integrate it with other applications, particularly other Office 2000 applications and Exchange Server, in solutions to enhance collaboration, communication and workflow.
The book covers cutting-edge topics such as the Active Directory Services Interface (ADSI), Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) and Component Object Model (COM) add-ins. Additionally, the book will discuss the use of alternative programming approaches, the Windows Scripting Host (WSH), Visual C++ and Java/Visual V++, as well as programming for handheld devices using Windows CE or the Palm OS.
The CD-ROM contains all source code for the examples and applications in the book.
