Micawber is a very happy squirrel living in Central Park, because he can sneak into the Metropolitan Museum of Art. There he revels in all the beautiful art. One day, he notices a young student copying a painting. Micawber sneaks into her paintbox and follows her home. While she sleeps, he paints a picture of his own and is amazed by the wonder of colour. He returns thirty more times to paint, and when he is done, he opens his own museum in Central Park: Micawber's Museum of Art.
