Men in Motion affords the reader exclusive access to the innate eroticism of more than 60 international dancers from a variety of disciplines, as they pose, prepare, and perform. Dancers are presented against black or white backgrounds, in their performance spaces, or outdoors in various stages of dress and performance. Rousseau draws upon his singular ability to capture the nuances, musculature and beauty of each dancer as they contemplate, stretch, and admire their own or each others' bodies. In addition, we, the reader, are completely entranced as we watch them jump, contort, and push their bodies to their physical limits. Whether alone, in a couple, or en masse, the energy and virility of these dancers leap from the stage, and the page. Members of classical dance companies, including Opera de Paris and The New York City Ballet, contemporary dance troupes such as Alvin Ailey, and Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane, as well as dancers from as diverse disciplines as Broadway, hip hop, acrobatic and folk are featured. Includes an introduction by famed choreographer and dancer Bill T. Jones, as well as an afterword by the photographer.
