She is adjunct associate professor at Johns Hopkins University, where she teaches medieval art, and is the author of Prayers in Code: Books of Hours from Renaissance France (2009) and coeditor of Treasures of Heaven: Saints, Relics, and Devotion in Medieval Europe (2010). Kathryn Gerry is an Andrew W. Mellon post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Medieval Art at the Walters Art Museum. She has published articles on a range of medieval topics and presented her research at institutions across the United States and Europe, edited two volumes of collected papers Art and Nature: Studies in Medieval Art and Architecture (2009) and A New Look at Old Things: Revisiting the Medieval Collections of the Walters Art Museum (2011), and organized the exhibition The Saint Johns Bible: A Modern Vision through Medieval Methods (2009).
