The work of self-delcared ex-designer Marti Guixe (b.1964) can aptly be described as 'beyond design'. Instead of creating new objects, which he finds rather 'superfluous' and 'boring' Guixe prefers to concentrate on ideas, systems and living matter like food and human behaviour. As a 'global designer', constantly travelling between Berlin and his city of birth Barcelona, Guixe analyses situations, rituals and gestures and proposes radical solutions with minimal ergonomics - simple, immaterial, humorous and often iconoclastic. This fascinating book will be linked to an exposition in Grand Hornu Images, in the summer of 2008. Text in English and French 150 colour illustrations
