This book is designed to guide china painters through the basic techniques of working with lustres. The book guides the painter through a brief history of lustre, where it can be used, drawing onto porcelain, the colour groups, application techniques, firing, stencilling, using lustre resists, special effects (including marbelising), running and dribbling, dispensing, halos, dipping and then it traces stages in working for separate projects.
Over the last 10 years, Heather Tailor has been heavily involved in teaching lustre workshops in many parts of Australia, guiding students through the process of completing a piece and encouraging them to experiment with various techniques and different subjects.
