Love Charms

Someone has stolen a love charm given to Laura for her birthday by her adventurous grandmother. She is having a birthday sleepover and two competing girl groups, the Populars and the Fringes, will be there. Who could the thief be and why would they steal the charm?

Luckily Laura's mother is a private investigator and helps Laura with ideas. She's also on the prowl for the One-eyed One-armed Bandit. At the end of the story we find out that Laura's grandmother has died in her sleep, so there's a bit of sadness there too.
