Everyone is mystified as to the source of the "big bangs" that are causing chaos all around Gosling Farm. Stan and Little Red Tractor investigate and find the cause to be Mr Jones' new gas fired bird scarer - a new contraption that lets off a loud bang every now and then to scare off the birds.
Stan works out a plan with Walter and Nicola at Beech garage to bring peace and quiet to the neighbourhood once more.
